The Markham Board of Trade presents The Great Markham Stampede. For the second time a little bit of the Wild West is being brought to Markham and “It’s a lot closer than Calgary”. ! This major event will be held at the Markham Fairground on Saturday, May 26th, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Kicking off the Markham Stampede will be Canada’s Number One Male Country Artist of the year for 2007, George Canyon with a concert on Friday night May 25th starting at 7:00 pm. Joining George Canyon on stage will be the beautiful and very talented Beverley Mahood host of CMT and funny man Wendell Ferguson seven-time Canadian Country Guitarist of the year winner.
On the Saturday the Markham Stampede will feature a little something for the whole family ranging from the Wild West Rodeo Show, The “Amazing” Superdogs, Suzuki Freestyle Demonstrations Team, Markham Board of Trade (Trade Show), North American Cavalry Challenge, Governor General’s Horse Guards and Band, Petting Zoo, FTT Forklift Rodeo, Mayor Frank Scarpitti OK Corral and all day concerts plus much more.

The Mission of The Great Markham Stampede is to be an annual internationally recognized event that will increase the awareness of Markham, Stouffville and York Region. As the local chamber of commerce, the Markham Board of Trade is committed to creating a world class event for attendees, and generating money into our local business economy. With the support from the Markham Board of Trade and their Members, Volunteers, Business Owners and Sponsors, the second annual Great Markham Stampede will be held on May 26, 2007 at the Markham Fairground. A Better Community means Better Business Conditions and the Markham Board of Trade works for a Better Community for everyone. The Stampede is designed to appeal to a diverse York Region and to bring communities together around a traditional North American celebration!
